A Hiddenwell spa break is an overnight stay at Hoar Cross Hall, our adult-only spa retreat in the village of Hoar Cross, East Staffordshire. Set in the hills of the ancient Needwood Forest, now part of the National Forest, the hall is around seven miles from Burton upon Trent and within easy reach of Lichfield, Uttoxeter, Tamworth and Rugeley. It pairs full access to one of Europe's largest spas with treatments, AA-rated dining and a night, or several, in one of our Rooms & Suites, inside a Grade II listed Victorian hall. Think of it as a spa day with no clock to watch.
Where You'll Be Staying
Hoar Cross Hall itself is part of the appeal. The current hall dates to 1863, designed by architect Henry Clutton with a private chapel added by George Bodley, and its 114-foot Long Gallery is still one of the building's signature features. It was converted from a private estate into a spa hotel in 1989 and is a Grade II listed building, so a stay here is as much a night in a piece of Staffordshire history as it is a spa break. Surrounded by National Forest woodland and open countryside, it's a genuine retreat, while still sitting close enough to the A38 and A515 for an easy drive from Birmingham, Derby, Nottingham or Stoke-on-Trent.

Every spa break includes overnight accommodation in our Rooms & Suites and full use of the spa's swimming, sauna and steam facilities, including the Spa Terrace's balmy pools, private cabanas and Juniper Log sauna. Dining is taken care of too, whether that's an AA two-Rosette à la carte dining experience in The Ballroom or a relaxed lunch at Hugo's. Treatments, afternoon tea and other little extras vary depending on the break you choose. You’ll find everything included clearly listed on each experience page, so you’ll know exactly what to look forward to before you arrive.
